OhioHealth seeking Marketing/Communications Intern

Our team is made up of more than 70 professionals who serve our care sites and have the opportunity to share these stories every day.

The OhioHealth O'Bleness Marketing/Communications Internship is housed at OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital in Athens, Ohio and offers experience in a dynamic and fast-paced community hospital environment. The program is multi-faceted and designed to offer students real- world experience and portfolio-building projects.

Do you have what it takes to be a part of WE?

Qualifications:

+ Junior or senior-level college student pursuing a degree in marketing, communications or a related field. Graduate level or post-graduate level applicants will not be considered.

+ Strong organizational skills as well as excellent written and oral communication skills

+ Ability to multi-task and work both independently and as a part of a team

+ Past project management experience and previous internship experience are preferred

Job Specifics:

+ Paid ($10/hour) for a one year commitment, with 45 and 90 day reviews to ensure the internship is a good fit. Summer-only internships are not offered.

+ Hours per week depend on the position and job site, but typically are as follows: 20 hours/week during school year and up to 40 hours/week during the summer. Office location determined

by position.

Responsibilities:

+ Contribute to all aspects of publishing a bi-weekly newsletter for associates, including researching story ideas, writing articles, taking photos, developing design using Microsoft Office and working with the printer

+ Contribute to UpFront, a magazine-style bi-monthly OhioHealth publication

+ Develop and assist in the implementation of communication plans, including providing writing support

+ Assist in developing press releases and other materials for distribution to local, regional and national media

+ Develop, review and update website content

+ Develop marketing collateral including brochures, flyers, etc

+ Keep track of published news stories in media database

+ Develop and update hospital Intranet

+ Support marketing and communications staff with other day- to-day responsibilities

+ Participate in department-wide developmental training opportunities
